"Cremisi surprise me by their very mature style announcing a very great future ! That level for a first album is absolutely rare. Big efforts into songwriting and arrangements make that this album is blowing our minds ! We need to keep a close attention to them for the near future… Capito ?"

- Valkyries Webzine - "Dawn of a New Era" review, 9/10 -

Cremisi are a Symphonic Epic metal band, born in september 2016 in Bologna (Italy). It is made of:

Davide Tomazzoni - lead and backing vocals

Francesco Messina - bass guitar

Federico Palmucci - acoustic and electric guitar, orchestra programming

Rolando Ferro - drums

The whole band’s plan is focused on the History of Arts: they tell historical events in an epic way, thanks to the symphonic orchestra, present in all the songs. The band self produced their first album “Dawn of a New Era” in 2018: it has been recorded at “Greenman Studios” by Sebastian Levermann (Orden Ogan), in Arnsberg (Germany) and they printed 300 copies of it.

Cremisi signed a contract with the italian label “Volcano Records & Promotion” for the digital distribution and promotion of the album, which was published 14th of June 2019.

They played live to promote "Dawn of a New Era” on different stages: first time at Alchemica Music Club (Bologna). Later on, on the 13th of July they took part to Celtic Days festival in Ome (BS) and 26th of August to Explosion VibeZ in Pianella (PE), both concerts in Italy.

In November they published their first official videoclip, of the song “The Black Death”, directed by Tommy Antonini.

At the beginning of 2020 Cremisi self-organized “The Polish Tour” in Poland, made of three dates: Wrocław, Łódź and Warszawa, 16th, 17th and 18th of April, but unfortunately it was canceled due to the global pandemic.

“Dawn of a New Era” is made of ten tracks. Between them there are eight full songs and two intros:

Dark Winds is the intro track of  The Black Death which tells the story of the black plague that shares Middle Ages and Renaissance. This song lets the listener enter straight to the Dawn of a New Era: this is the song which shows the ideas of the artistical movement.

Captain’s Log describes Cristoforo Colombo’s travel to the Americs, Confession enlights the witches haunting by the church’s Inquisition.

Than there are two battle songs: the siege of Forli’ in In the Name of the Lord fought by Sforzas and Borgias (two of the most important families in Italy) and Battle of Lepanto, which lulls the listener, making him fly with immagination between the Waves of Sorrow (intro), using also epic choirs and orchestras during the refrain. The Hanged Man tells the story of the Pazzi’s Conspiracy in Florence: Leonardo da Vinci was present during the execution B. Baroncelli  and he made a little paint, that inspired Cremisi for this song.

On the Moon is the last song on the album, it’s about one of the stories of the poem Orlando Furioso, by L. Ariosto, more precisely telling the deeds of Astolfo, who left the Earth by flying horses, heading to the moon, to find back the wits of Orlando.telling the deeds of Astolfo, who left the Earth by flying horses, heading to the moon, to find back the wits of Orlando.
